Debut Tips, Techniques & Tutorials

Today on the Sisterhood blog, Kim has challenged us to make something using a stamp, punches or diecut for something other than  for what  the tool was intended to be used. I chose to make a bookmark using my scalloped circle punches and a Marvy flower punch. The template for the bookmark came from June at the Stamp Pad in Zoar. Why not hop on over to the Sisterhood and give this challenge a try?

The bookmark is 2" by 11" folded in half. I used a 2", 1 3/4", and 1 1/2" punches to cut the circles. Then I cut the circles apart, using two scallops for each petal. Glue dots were used to hold the petals together. The center is flower using the Marvy flower punch and a flower gem. The Marvy flower punch was also used to create the flowers running down the bookmark. Gems were used for the center of each little flower. Thanks for stopping by today. Now hop on over to the Sisterhood and leave a little love for all the sistahs.

Son-in-law's Birthday Card

My son-in-law collects moose, so I thought "Morty the Moose" by Sewn Together would be the perfect image to use on his card. The image was colored with Prismacolor watercolor pencils and blender pen. The sentiment I made on my computer. Other details:

Paper: White cardstock base
           Textured black cardstock mat
           K and Co designer paper

Embellishments: Wiggle eyes
                         Fish and Oar buttons
                         Hemp cord

I hope he will like the card as much as the gift card enclosed.

This is only one of five cards I made while visiting with my friends Darlene and Lana. It is so much fun to craft with friends. The ideas just keep flying.

Thanks for visiting with me today. If you have a chance, check out the new challenge blog "The Sisterhood of Crafters." Have a great day!"
