Basic Butterfly Birthday

What a beautiful weekend we had here in Northeast Ohio. A bit chilly in the morning, but afternoons were in the high 30's - low 40's with sun. Last Thursday, I received my order from Stampin' Up that included the Basic Butterfly Stamp Set. I decided to use my Tim Holtz distressed inks and Memory Box stencils to create this card.

I have entered this card in the following challenges:
My Artistic Adventures - #6 Anything Goes
Paradise of Stamps - #14 Anything Goes
The Sisters of Craft - Anything Goes

I chose Ivory card stock as the base. Next, I used Tim Holtz "squeezed lemonade" to go over the "Texture Tessatina" stencil in a circular motion. Then I used "shabby shutters' to go over the yellow. Once that was done, I used "shabby shutters" ink to stamp the fern onto the card 3 times. The sentiments were stamped with black India Ink. Using my fancy butterfly dies, I cut 1 of the small butterfly for the left hand side and 2 of the larger butterfly (layered one on top of the other) for the butterfly on the right hand side. Offray's willow green sating ribbon finishes the project.

I just love this stamp set, but was disappointed to learn the butterfly thinlets that match have been discontinued. Thank goodness, I had another set of dies that would work.

Well, that's all for today. Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day.

Terri
