Big Catch

The card I have to share with you today was made using an image I purchased with a gift certificate from a challenge I won about a month ago. The stamp is called "Bob Hooked a Big One" by High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

The image was stamped with Fun Stampers Journey "Black Licorice" ink and colored using Stampin Up and Close to My Heart markers. The plaid designer paper is DCWV and the kraft card stock is from Recollections. Brown and white gingham ribbon was added before adhering the image panel. The hat and fish are buttons and the oar is a scrapbook embellishment. These three items have been in my stash forever, just never had the right project on which to use them. The eyeglass lenses were covered with Fun Stampers Journey "Journey Glaze" (similar to SU's Crystal Effects).

I didn't add a sentiment, because I haven't decided how I am going to use this card. It would work for a man's retirement or birthday. Will just have to see which occasion arises first.

Well, it's supposed to be another beautiful, hot day here in Northeast Ohio, so I think I will grab some lunch before picking up my granddaughter, then spend some quality time outside with her today. We had so much rain in June, we didn't think it would ever get nice. Have to enjoy as many of these nice days as we can before fall and winter start to set in.

Have a great day everyone and please stop by again soon.

Hugs,
Terri

Tatty Twinkles Snack Size Hershey Pouch

It felt so good to be able to spend quite a bit of time in my craft room over the weekend. On Saturday afternoon my hubby and I went to our granddaughter's 3rd birthday party and on Sunday he was able to go to church with me. That doesn't happen very often, because he usually works weekends. Thankfully he had the weekend off. So after partying and church I had time to work on a few projects.

This little pouch by Diane is so easy to put together and you will find her detailed instructions here. Take a look around her site, she has some fabulous cards and other 3 D projects.

Now for my creation.

I used a colored image and sentiment from my Tatty Twinkles CD for the focal point. The pink dotted paper was a scrap I found on my work table. I used my oval punches to create the sentiment panel and mat. The opening for the candy bar was made using my Stampin' Up "Word Window" punch. Offray pink organdy ribbon with white dots, tied in a double bow, added the final touch.

Since I didn't have a snack size candy bar to put in the slit, I used a piece of card stock to show how it works.

As you can see by the picture, once the candy bar is inserted the pouch opens about 1/4".
Wouldn't this pouch make a nice favor for a bridal or baby shower?

They would also make great stocking stuffers and you could add a gift card in with the candy bar.

Now I am getting so many ideas for craft shows, I don't know if I will get them all done. That time of year is coming up fast. I am actually thinking of doing my church craft show on September 7th and 8th and another church craft show on September 12th.

So much to do and so little time. Guess I'd better get off my computer and get to work.

I'm so glad you stopped by and visited with me today. Please stop by again soon.

Have a beautiful day!

Terri

Birthday Sliding Pop-Up Card

Today's project is one that I have always been a little intimidated to try. I found these simple instructions by Diane on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. I can't believe how quickly this card came together.

I started with a medium green card stock for the base. Designer paper  is from the Wild Rose Studio Blackberry Lane paper pack. The dotted grosgrain ribbon is American Craft and the stamp set is Popcorn's Pals by Crafter's Companion.

I used my Tombow and Close to My Heart  markers to color the image. The sentiments were stamped with Black Licorice ink from Fun Stampers Journey.

This stamp set was purchased along with 3 others when I used a gift certificate from a challenge I won a month ago. Aren't the mouse and kitty adorable?

This side view shows how the mechanism works. (Sorry it's a little dark.) The image panel is adhered between the 1/2" base panels on the bottom.

The card folds up nicely for mailing. Now I just have to decide who I will be sending it to. I have lots of family and friends birthdays coming up.
I want to make some of the bases and have them set aside for future use. My mind is spinning with all the possibilities of images to use. This would make a great masculine card with the right image and embellishments.

Wow, the morning has just flown by. Time to get lunch and then pick up my granddaughter.

I hope you enjoyed my project for today.

Don't forget to stop by the Sisterhood and check out the new challenge. You have until 8 pm (EST), Sunday, Aug. 9th  to enter.

My sistahs have some fabulous projects for your inspiration.

Have a great day!

Hugs,
Terri

Say "Bello"

While spending some time on Pinterest looking for inspiration, I found the instructions for this cute little minion here: I wanted my minion a little taller so I changed the dimensions to 4" x 5", scored at 1 1/2" and 3 1/2" on the long side. The black band is 3/4" by 5" and adhered before I closed the pouch. For the eyes I used my 1 1/4" circle punch for the white, 1" circle punch for the blue and 3/4" circle punch for the black. The mouths were fussy cut from a 1 1/4" circle punch. That's it. So easy, but so cute.

Since the new movie is out and minions are so popular, I thought I should make some of these for craft shows this fall. Maybe I will make them different colors for Halloween treats.

Has anyone seen the movie yet? My 3 year old granddaughter loves the minions, but I'm not sure she could sit through the whole movie. On the days that I babysit her, she always wants me to put on one of our dvd's with minion mini movies. Some of them she likes to watch three or four times. Guess it's a good thing I like them too.

Okay, that's my share for today. I have a few other ideas on my work table and time to get busy on more challenge projects.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Hugs,
Terri

Summertime

When I found this image on Pinterest, I know it would be the perfect focus for a summer card. This is my idea of relaxing during the summer. A nice cool breeze, a cold beverage and a comfortable place to read.

I started with a bright yellow cardstock for the base, then added this beautiful background paper from the NitWit Collections pack by Mary Fran of Lili of the Valley.  SU's "Passion Pink" card stock was used for the mat behind the image and the sentiment.

Using my new Tattered Lace "Ornate Leaves" dies, I cut two stems  from lime green and garden green for embellishments. Green satin ribbon and Flower Soft add dimension.

The lawn has been mowed, the screened canopy is set up and there is a cool breeze calling my name. I think I will grab a cool drink, a good book and head outside to enjoy this beautiful day before heading back to my craft room.

Thanks for visiting with me today.  Please stop by again soon and leave a little love if you have time.

Hugs,
Terri

Beat the Heat

Have you had a chance to check out the new challenge at the Sisterhood hosted by Vickie? The theme is "Summer Heat". What comes to mind when you hear that phrase?

Unfortunately, here in Northeast Ohio the temperatures have been more like lukewarm and wet, so this was a real challenge for me. When I found these Jolee stickers my creative brain cells started working and here is my project.

The base was created with white card stock. Then I added these beautiful designer papers by Recollections. The striped paper was folded down 1/4" and then adhered to the top of my card. When the card is standing it looks like a cabana on the beach. Using my 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" oval punches I created the mat for my sentiment. I used pop dots to give the panel dimension and Jolee's stickers were used to create the beach scene.

As much as I love working in my craft room, I could really go for some relaxing time on the beach with a good book and a cold beverage. But for now I will have to settle for a chair in the back yard and pretend I am on the beach.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
       Artistic Inspirations - Anything Goes
       Card Mania - Anything Goes
Crafting From The Heart - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes

We would love to see your take on this theme, so why not head on over to the Sisterhood to check out the projects my sistahs have created for inspiration and join in on the fun?

Have a beautiful creative day!

Terri

Pot of Tea

This is my first attempt making a Triangle Trifold card. I used Stampin' Up's Blue Brocade card stock for the base and had a little trouble getting the folds to line up right. (The card stock may have been a little heavy.) But I am pleased with the end result. I found the instructions here:

The image is one of many that I found on Pinterest. I think the colors in this image work well with the colors of my base card stock and SU designer paper. I used SU's Olive Green and Blue Brocade to mat the image that was printed on Ivory card stock.

(closed)

(open)

For the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment and the spoon from my new set of Fun Journey Stamps "Tea Time" with Black Licorice ink from the same company. To close the card I tied a bow with Ivory sating ribbon.

Since the finished size of the card is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2", I will have to make an envelope for mailing. I may try changing the dimensions for a larger card.

I made this card late last night after celebrating my husband's birthday. Since I spent the morning having a stress test and ultrasound of the carotid arteries, we got a late start on his birthday celebration. We went out lunch and stopped for ice cream on the way home. Then part of the evening was spent at our younger daughter's house.

Off to work on some more projects. Thanks for visiting with me today.

Terri

Tea Time

Hello everyone! I was thrilled to be able to spend a lot of time in my craft room over the weekend. No babysitting, doctor's appointments or grocery shopping. While searching through Pinterest for more card inspiration I came across this cute tea bag holder which goes together quickly. You can find the instructions by Catherine Cote here.

For the yellow one, I used SU's Marigold Morning card stock for the base and Best Year Every designer paper for the background. The image, found on Pinterest, was matted using Recollections chocolate card stock. SU's Garden Green was used for the base of the other one. I matted the image with Recollections chocolate card stock and DCWV Green dotted designer paper. I used the same designer papers on the inside to create the pockets. (Each holds 2 tea bags.) White Satin ribbon was adhered to the front under the mats and wrapped around the back, then tied in a bow to hold closed.

I want to make more of these for craft shows this fall. I think I will package them with a tea cup and cookies. I think they would make nice gifts for teachers, co-workers, friends, etc.

Aren't the tea pot and tea cup images adorable? I did a search on Pinterest using "tea pot and tea cup clip art" and found so many cute images. The hardest part of this project was deciding what colors of card stock and designer papers to use.

Before I work on more of these, I need to work on some challenge projects and more cards for selling. I may cut some of these out and put them together while watching TV with my hubby at night. Then I can finish decorating them later.

Hope you like my project for today. Stop by again soon.

Birthday Blog Hop

We wanted to wish
Darlene a  very HAPPBIRTHDAY today in a special way!
Hope you will join in the fun and get some amazing birthday card ideas along the way.
We also hope you will stop over to Darlene's blog and wish her a
Happy Birthday !
Let the party begin!!!!

Darlene....our birthday girl!

Darlene is one of my best friends and since she only lives a half hour away from me, we get together whenever possible to create and craft. I love picking her brain for ideas. She is such an inspiration and so talented. So before I share my creation with you I want to say "Happy Birthday Dar!"

Now here's my card...

For the base I used Stampin' Up's "Perfect Plum" card stock and embossed it with a vine embossing folder from Darice. Next I cut a panel from SU's "Pale Plum" and one from "Perfect Plum"  to mat my image. This image and sentiment were printed from My Craft Studio's "Tatty Twinkles" cd.  The sentiment panel was punched from white card stock with a mat of "Perfect Plum" using my oval punches. The beautiful lavender and white dotted ribbon was purchased from Pat Catan's and has been waiting for on my ribbon shelf for just the right project. I think this the perfect addition to my card.

So Darlene, are you feeling the love from your 'sistah's"? Hope your birthday turns out to be as wonderful as you are.

Your  next stop is Vickie....or you can start all over!!! And don't forget to stop by Dar's blog and leave a little birthday love.

Have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Terri

Vintage Bike Feel Better Soon

As I was going through some of the cards I have made, I realize that I don't have many get well cards for men. Today's card is another unique folded card that I found on Pinterest. You can find the instructional video here. I was a little afraid to try this card, but once I watched the video and followed along step by step I was able to complete this card.

The image is from Stampin' Up's "Feeling Vintage" stamp sets and is one of my favorites for masculine cards. I started with a base of Recollections "Chocolate" card stock. The image was stamped on Recollections "Cream" card stock with SU's chocolate chip ink. I then cut a mat from Recollections "Caramel" card stock and adhered the image with a tape runner. The sentiment from SU's "Express Yourself" stamp set was matted with caramel and cream card stock, cut into a banner. The gold ribbon from American Crafts finishes off the project.

The base of this card was so much fun to make. I will definitely be using this layout again. I usually struggle to make masculine cards, but now I have a go to fold that will make these cards a little easier.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Hope you enjoyed my creation.

Happy Crafting!

Terri

Flower Patch Birthday

Saturday evening I had the opportunity to attend the surprise 30th birthday party for the daughter of my friend Judy's daughter.  I searched pinterest for some ideas and found this double flip flop card. You will find the instructions by Deb Valder here.

The flowers and sentiment were stamped on white card stock with Stampin' Up's Regal Rose ink and adhered to a mat of SU's Regal Rose card stock. I placed a white pears in the center of each of the flowers and added pink grograin ribbon to the left side. Inside I stamped the sentiment "Have a bloomin' happy birthday!"

Judy is more than a friend, she is like a sister. We craft together, go shopping, eat out and get into trouble together. When I stop by her house, her husband lets her know "your sister is here." Occasionally when we go shopping or out to eat, the employee of the business will ask if we are sisters because we are constantly picking on each other.

Judy is supposed to be my navigator when I drive and often forgets to tell me when to turn or take and exit because we are talking and laughing so much. She makes me feel so much like part of her family. I can hardly wait to get to the party and see Chrissy (her daughter) and Judy's granddaughter Kaylee.

That's my project for today. Stop by tomorrow and check out the masculine "Feel Better Soon" card that I will be working on next.

Have a great day!

Shiny Purple Birthday

Hello everyone! Today, our hostess for the Sisterhood challenge is Glenda. She is asking everyone to make a birthday card or gift. I found a pack of David Tutera card layers that I had purchased months ago on clearance at Pat Catan's and decided to use them on this card.

The purple mirror board was purchased from Create and Craft TV. Isn't the color just yummy?

The lattice layer had to be cut down for the front panels. I put good use to the left over pieces as you will see on the inside of the card.

I created the layers of the flower with 2 of my SU punches and 1 Martha Stewart punch. Then added a purple gem for the center. The sprigs of green were created using my Martha Stewart sprig punch.

The tag for the sentiment was punched with my SU modern label punch and the stamp is from SU's "Express Yourself" stamp set.

I am so pleased with the way this card turned out. Now I just have to decide who will receive this card for their birthday. I have so many friends who love the color purple.

Guess I will have to see what else I can come up with using this mirror board, so they all get a birthday card with their favorite color.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Card Mania - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Crafting From the Heart - Anything Goes
Get Creative Challenges - Flowers

Okay, now why not head on over to the Sisterhood to see what the other sisters have created for your inspiration? Then get busy creating and share your projects with us.

You have until 8pm Sunday, July 19th to enter. Who knows you might be one of our top sisters.

Good luck and thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,

Terri

Hersher Kiss Treat Holder

As you can see from the title of this post, my project today is another treat holder. Once again this project can be put together quickly using a 3 1/2" by 8 1/2" sheet of cardstock. You will get three treat holders from one 8 1/2" by 11" sheet of card stock. The directions can be found here:

The base of the treat holder was cut from Stampin' Up's Lovely Lilac card stock. I used designer paper from the Basic Grey Wisteria 6 x 6 pad for the decorative panel. The green flower was cut from Stampin' Up's "Always Artichoke" card stock. Using my piercing tool, I punched a hole through the green card stock flower and poked the wire of the wedding flower through the hole and secured using a dimensional dot. The sheer striped ribbon is from Darice's Oh So Trendy line and is threaded through 1/8" holes punched 3/4" apart through the front and back of the box and through the candy treat bag.

Wouldn't this make a beautiful favor for a bridal or baby shower? I will definitely be using this as a favor for one of my meetings coming up this fall and I might even make some of these for craft shows. This would be a great gift for anyone who loves candy.

Now I am picturing this treat holder decorated for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas favors. They would make cute table decorations at each place setting.

Okay, time to start writing these ideas down so I don't forget them. I know it is only the beginning of July, but if I want to have a nice selection of items for the craft shows beginning in September, I need to get started. Last year I was working feverishly getting items ready to sell right up until the craft shows began. This year I want to be able to stay ahead of the game and keep up with inventory.

Along with getting ready for the craft shows, I need to work on gifts for friends and family. I always like to them a home made gift such as: treat boxes, note pads & pens, post-it-note holders, hand sanitizer or chapstick in a home made gift box. Some of these items work perfectly as stocking stuffers.

Off to take stock of the items I have left over from last year, so I can have an idea of what I need to concentrate for this year.

Have a great day everyone and stop by to visit again soon.

Hugs,

Terri

Easy Christmas Basket

I want to create treat holders for meetings that I have coming up in the near future, so I went onto Pinterest for a few ideas. Today I want to share this basket that is made from one square of cardstock. You can use any size square, just divide the sections into equal parts. For example, I started with a 6 inch square scored at 2" and 4" inches on two sides. You will find the instructions here:

Best Year Ever designer paper from Stampin' Up was used to create the basket and 1/4" white satin ribbon holds the basket together. I did make one change to the directions. The original instructions call for 4 pieces of ribbon to tie the sections together. I used one piece of ribbon and thread it through all the holes then tied a bow. I haven't decorated the outside, because I'm not sure which meeting this will be given out.

I was thinking of using this for my September stamp group meeting and decorating with Sunflowers. Once I decide on the theme, I will add embellishments and treats.

Since this basket has four sections, I was thinking of adding a post-it-note pad and pen to 1st section, chocolate in 2nd section, hard candy in the 3rd section and I'm working on ideas for the last section. (Maybe small bottles of hand santizer and tissues.)

Using my paper trimmer and score board made this a quick easy project. It took me less then 1/2 hour to put the whole thing together.

I envision this project being used for other holidays, wedding shower, baby shower or other fun event. Oh gosh, this would have been the perfect favor for a July 4th picnic. I could have put the silverware, napkins, sparklers, etc. in the sections.

Well, that's me. Always a day late and a penny short.

Hope you liked my project for today. Stop by tomorrow for a look at another fun, easy treat holder.

Hugs,
Terri

Oh Snap!

Yesterday I shared a card that was made using materials from my June Kit of the Month from Fun Stampers Journey. Today I have another card to share with you that I made from the same kit.

First, I inked my stamp with Black Licorice ink and stamped off on a piece of scrap card stock, then stamped the sentiment again on Whip Cream. The next step was to add the River Stone panel to the base. Pop dots were used to create dimension when adding the Whip Cream pierced panel. Using this beautiful Lemon Grass twine, I wound different size circles around my fingers and attached the twine to my Whip Cream panel with a pop dot. I fussy cut around the sentiment and attached with pop dots for dimension. The last step was to add the candy dots.

The next time I create this card I will add splashes of Journey inks in various colors to enhance the background. I need to order the Bubble Gum, River Stone, Cool Pool and Lemon Grass inks. My starter kit came with Black Licorice, Sweet Berry, Pineapple Smoothie and Blue Lagoon inks. I was afraid those colors might over power the lighter colors of embellishments on this card.

If you have a chance check out my web page here to see more samples of items created by the Fun Stampers Journey team.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you come again soon.

Hugs,
Terri

Hello You

My project for today was created using materials in my June Kit of the Month from Fun Stampers Journey. I received this kit for free when I joined the Journey company as one of their coaches. Each kit costs $24.95 and you get enough materials to complete 4 cards. There is a 6 month commitment when you sign up for the Kit of the Month. At the end of the six months, you can opt out.

Starting with a Lemon Grass base, I then added the embossed panel. Next I added the Bubble Circle, wrapped Lemon Grass satin ribbon around the card base and tied in a bow at the bottom of the pink circle. Using pop dots I added the Cool Pool circle and the Whip Cream Heart circle. A puddle of Journey Glaze was placed in the center of the heart circle and sprinkled with Journey Sparkle Cuts. I stamped off the sentiment on
a piece of scrap card stock, then stamped again on a piece of Whip Cream using Journey Black Licorice ink.

The stamp set called "Selfie Love" (comes with the kit) was used to stamp the sentiment. This stamp set (SS-0213) will be available for purchase in October 2015. The embossed panel was created by the company using the "Beach Towel" (EF-0001) embossing folder.

Aren't these colors luscious? Fun Stampers Journey offers 46 different colors in ink pads, markers and card stock. The card stock is the perfect weight for all of your paper craft projects.

You can view the online catalog on my webpage found here. If you have any questions about my card or the Fun Stampers Journey company, leave a comment or send me an email.

Time to get back to work on more projects. Thanks for stopping by and visiting.

As always, Happy Crafting.

Hugs,
Terri
