Birthday Yacht

Hello, everyone! I think my brain took a short vacation this week. I completely forgot to tell you about the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters. It began Wednesday, with Darlene as our hostess. Her theme is "Create Your Own Background".

Now that summer has truly arrived in Northeast Ohio, I began to think of all the fun water activities. So I decided to go with a Nautical theme.

To create the background, I used my Darice "Wheel and Anchor" embossing folder, then inked the embossing with Stampin' Up's "Bashful Blue" ink pad. The white wheels on red background paper is from the Authentique "Anchored" paper pad. I adhered the embossed panel with glue runner. The yacht and birds were cut from black card stock on my Silhouette Cameo. The yacht was attached using a glue runner and the birds were adhered with foam dots for dimension. The banner was created with the red wheels paper and white card stock. "Happy Birthday" was stamped with Fun Stampers Journey Black Licorice ink. I added natural twine through the button holes and tied in a knot, then adhered the button with a glue dot. Last I tied natural twine around the card 4 times and tied it in a knot.

My husbands birthday is in July, so this will be the perfect card for him. He loves anything related to the water, so I guess I will have to find him a new nautical decoration for his work room. He has so many now, it is getting harder to find something he doesn't have already.

I hope you all have had a chance to see the beautiful inspiration projects created by my 'sistahs'.

If not, why not check them out now, then enter your own project. Remember you have until 8pm, Sunday July 3rd to enter. Have fun and Good Luck!

Hugs,
Terri
