Pretty Poppies

The Sisterhood of Crafters has a new challenge for you starting today and our hostess is Marsha. In honor of all veterans, your challenge is to create a card or other project using poppies as your focus.

I found this image of Poppies on Pinterest (I think it was a coloring page) and decided to make it my focus.
The image was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and fussy cut. The card stock is SU's Sage and the designer paper is from DCWV layered onto a white card stock base. After adding the doily, I used pop dots to add dimesion to the poppies. The sentiment panel was created using a label punch and sponging green ink around the edge. Last I add a white satin/organza ribbon to make the bow.

My sistahs have created some beautiful inspiration projects to share with you. Why not hop on over to the Sisterhood and enter your project.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Little Mermaid

The Sisterhood of Crafters has a new challenge beginning today and Diane is our hostess. The theme for this challenge is:
"Magical Fairy Garden"
Use anything magical as your focus: for example - a fairy, unicorn, gnome, rainbow, etc.

For my project, I chose this sweet little mermaid and her fishy companion.

I started with a base card of light blue, added a black mat, then added a panel of DCWV designer paper. The rock was fussy cut from black paper. After coloring the mermaid, fish and starfish with prismacolor pencils, I fussy cut around them and used pop dots to give them dimension.

If you are looking for a fun challenge, why not head on over to the Sisterhood and check out the inspiration projects by my sistahs and enter your own creations. Limit of 3 entries per person.

Hope to see you there.

May Flowers

Today begins a new challenge at the Stinkin' Inkers challenge blog and the theme is:
May Flowers
For my project, I chose to create a basket for the centerpiece of my dining table.
The basket is created from a 9" by 9" piece of bright yellow card stock. DCWV double-sided designer paper was used to decorate the sides. I found these gorgeous spring flowers and birds at Pat Catan's. After adding a peach colored ribbon to the handle, I placed a bird on each side of the ribbon facing each other.

These baskets are so easy and quick to put together. I just love making them. I am trying to decide if I should make some for craft shows this fall. What do you think?

If you are looking for a fun challenge, why not head on over to the Stinkin' Inkers to see my design team's inspiration projects and enter your creations. You have until 7pm Friday May 25th to enter. Limit of 3 projects per person.

Happy Crafting!
