Today's challenge at the Sisterhood, hosted by Darlene, is to create a project using one main color. One of my recent purchases from Stampin' Up was the "Traveler" stamp set that I intended to use for masculine cards. For this project I decided to use brown to create this retirement card.
I have had this K & Company "Old World Map" designer paper for quite awhile and couldn't come up with a design until now. I think it goes perfectly with the stamps. The images were stamped onto Colonial White card stock with Chocolate Ink (both from Close to My Heart). Then I used Nestibilities Labels One to cut the image panel and brown mat. After layering and adhering these panels to the card, I fussy cut around the globe and used dimentionals to create depth. The sentiment is from SU "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set, then layered onto Reflections lt brown card stock. Darice brown satin ribbon was tied around card for the final touch.
Since I don't have any retirements coming up soon, this card will be added to my craft show stash.
I have entered this card in the following challenges:
Brown Sugar - Anything GoesSister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
{Pin}spirational - Anything Goes
If you would like to join our challenge, hop over to the Sisterhood for more inspiration from the sisters and step-sisters, then get busy on your creation. You have until 8pm (est), Sunday, May 3rd to enter.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy Crafting.
Terri
I loved this card the minute I saw it and it is a perfect monochromatic card, which I do struggle with those, a part of me can't seem to keep to just a tone of colors, especially if I "try"...lol...but you have certainly nailed it....perfect paper for it, too!!
