Kathy's June 2014 Card Kit

I have another set of cards designed by Kathy to share with you. I worked on this set of cards the last day of my retreat. Kathy is so creative with her designs. Her cards are always clean and simple and that is how I work. Now on to the pictures.

I think these cards are so elegant. Maybe I will try my hand at making my own card kits to sell. The hardest part will be coming up with the designs.

Kathy really inspires me to get more creative with my punches and die cuts. If I could just grow a few more creative brain cells, I would be all set.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my projects from my crafting retreat.  Until next time...

Hugs,
Terri

Apron Recipe Card Holder

My project to share today is this adorable recipe card holder. This was the second class I took at my Camp Carl retreat. Although it takes a lot of cutting by hand, it is very easy to put together.

I wish I had pictures of the other ladies' finished project. We had a lot of pretty papers to choose from, but I really love this dotted paper.  Now to go through my papers and see what other combinations I can come up with.

I have been looking for some new and unique projects to add to my collection. I think I will make some of these for my craft shows this fall.

That's all I have for today. I will be back tomorrow with more cards from Kathy's card kits.

Until then, have a great day.

Hugs,
Terri

Camp Carl Card Class

Hello everyone! Sorry I didn't get anything posted yesterday and I am posting late today. Our phone went out yesterday, so I had to go shopping for a new one. Now that my computer and phone are back up and running, I can begin posting again.

Today I would like to share the cards I made in a card class presented by one of the ladies in my SU stamp group, Kathy. She made each of us a card kit and showed us how to put them together.

There were enough materials in the kit to make 2 of each card and envelope liners for matching envelopes. We did 1 of each card in class and took the others back to our tables to finish at camp or take home to work on.

Aren't they fabulous? Kathy makes card kits for each month and charges $!8 a kit without envelope liners or $21.00 with the liners. If she has to mail them to us, we add $5.00 for shipping.

I purchased 4 more of her kits at camp and finished one that I will be sharing with you next week. Also watch for my post on the Apron Recipe Card Holder that we learned to make at camp in a class taught by my SU upline, Sue.

Don't forget to stop by the Sisterhood and join in on our "Monochromatic " challenge hosted by Darlene.

Have a great weekend!

Prayer Journals

Today I have my prayer journals to share with you. The blue and pink journals were made using Colorblok designer paper and 3D Flowers for the main image. I used paper flowers for the corners. The centers of the blue journal are brads and the centers for the pink journal are pearls. The mats for the 3D flowers were cut using my Sizzix Eyelet die and the corners for the pink journal were cut with my Memory Box corner die.

The mats for the images, sentiment panel and corners were cut from Ivory cardstock. Using my SU Soft Suede, I inked the edges of the sentiment panel for a vintage look.

My friend, Judy, gave me the designer paper for this journal. When I first looked at it, I thought it was fancy owl images, but it is actually flower flourishes. I love the bright greens and pinks. Some of the flowers are glittered. The paper flowers in the top right corner were purchased from Michaels and the paper flowers in the lower left corner were layered petals and brads for the centers.

I love how the green ribbon bow matches the green in the paper perfectly.  The image by Stamper's Anonymous was stamped with SU soft suede ink on ivory cardstock. The image panel was then layered onto old olive cardstock, then an ivory panel.

I am very happy with the end result. I hope my customer will like them.

I have so much more to show you, so please stop by and visit every day this week for more inspiration.

Leave a comment and let me know what you think. I can always use suggestions.

Have a beautiful relaxing day. See you tomorrow.

Hugs,

Terri

Happy Retirement

Today's challenge at the Sisterhood, hosted by Darlene, is to create a project using one main color.  One of my recent purchases from Stampin' Up was the "Traveler" stamp set that I intended to use for masculine cards. For this project I decided to use brown to create this retirement card.

I have had this K & Company "Old World Map" designer paper for quite awhile and couldn't come up with a design until now. I think it goes perfectly with the stamps. The images were stamped onto   Colonial White card stock with Chocolate Ink (both from Close to My Heart). Then I used Nestibilities Labels One to cut the image panel and brown mat. After layering and adhering these panels to the card, I fussy cut around the globe and used dimentionals to create depth. The sentiment is from SU "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set, then layered onto Reflections lt brown card stock. Darice brown satin ribbon was tied around card for the final touch.

Since I don't have any retirements coming up soon, this card will be added to my craft show stash.

I have entered this card in the following challenges:

Brown Sugar - Anything GoesSister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
{Pin}spirational - Anything Goes

If you would like to join our challenge, hop over to the Sisterhood for more inspiration from the sisters and step-sisters, then get busy on your creation. You have until 8pm (est), Sunday, May 3rd to enter.

Thanks for stopping by. Happy Crafting.

Craft Retreat

I'm back from my craft retreat and I will have lots to share with you. Still working on getting everything unpacked. As soon as I find my cord to hook my camera to my computer, I will share pictures of projects and participants. Judy and I had a wonderful time. We each had an 8ft table to ourselves and the tables were arranged with four in a group.

On Friday evening, Sue (my SU upline) and Kathy (former SU Demo) taught 2 classes. Kathy did a class to make 2 each of 5 cards. We made one set of five cards in class and took the other set of five back to our tables to work on later. Sue provided the materials to make an apron recipe box and dividers. Can't wait to show you the finished projects.

Judy was helping me to cut images on my Pazzle cutting machine, but my wifi internet card went out and I wasn't able to connect to the images. So I spent my time making extra card sets that I had purchased from Kathy and made 3 prayer journals that had been commissioned before I left for the retreat.

Once I get the titles on the journals, I can get them in the mail. Before I post them, I will post pictures of my creations.

Well, that's it for today. I am going to do some unpacking and then try to get pack to posting the pictures.

Have a great day.

Hugs,

Terri

Easter Basket

Last Wednesday I volunteered to do a make and take for my SU stamp group. I decided to use SU designer paper to make this cute Easter basket. The ladies loved how quick and easy the basket was to put together. Instructions for this basket can be found here.

Wouldn't this make a cute gift for Mother's Day, Get Well, Birthday, Baby or Wedding Shower?

Once again I used the "Petal Potpourri" stamp set, co-ordinating punch and black India ink to make the flower embellishments. With a corner punch, I rounded the corners before adhering everything together.

I wonder if these would be good sellers at a craft show. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear from you.

Well, that's it for today. I am leaving at 2pm Friday for a Women's Craft Retreat and won't be home until sometime early Sunday evening. I will be babysitting my granddaughter this afternoon and will spend most of the day tomorrow packing for my retreat, so I won't get back into my craft room till next week. Hope to have lots to share with you when I return.

Enjoy the rest of your week and as always "Happy Crafting".

Hugs,
Terri

Bloomin' Birthday

Even though it's cloudy in Northeast Ohio, it is still a beautiful day with no rain and a high of 67. Since I had such a busy day yesterday, I decided I would get up early and start crafting. I pulled out my "Petal Potpourri" stamp set by Stampin' Up to create this card.

The flowers were stamped onto white card stock using SU's Mambo Mango ink and punched out with the coordinating punch. Background paper is from DCWV's Floral Stack pad. The sentiment is from SU's "Flower Patch" stamp set and the twine is a new product from SU. I used my 3/4" circle punch to make the flower centers.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Stamp and Create - Anything Goes

I will be using this stamp set a lot. It is so versatile, as you will see on my project for tomorrow. So be sure to stop by again.

Enjoy this beautiful day!

April Showers

After a long cold winter, I am ready for Spring. So, as hostess for this week's challenge at the Sisterhood, I am asking everyone to create a project using something to do with rain as your focal image (rain, rainbow, rain boots, umbrella, etc.). The photo and sentiment for my card were found on Pinterest. Isn't that little boy just the cutest? Reminds me of my childhood. I loved to go out in a nice, slow, warm rain and splash in the puddles. (I also liked making mud pies after the rain stopped.)

Now for my creation and the details.

I started with gray cardstock as the base of my card and embellished it with Darice "Dots" embossing folder.  Using my Nestibilities scalloped oval dies, I created the mats from black and lime green card stock, them used the smallest die to cut my image. The sentiment was cut using my Nestibilities Labels Six die and sponged black India ink around the edge to create a rain cloud. To create raindrops, I used crystal gems and added black satin ribbon for the finishing touch.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes

Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Mema's Challenge - Anything Goes

I am anxious to see your creations, so head on over to the Sisterhood for some inspiration, then join in on the fun. You just might be one of the Top Award Winners.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Endless Love

When I found this adorable wedding dress and tuxedo embellishments, I knew I had to use them on a card. They came in packs of four and I found them in the wedding department of a local craft store.

I started with a white card stock base, then added a silver panel over a black mat. The sentiment is from a  DCWV 6 x 6 paper pack and the ribbon is from the wedding department of Pat Catan's and reads "We've tied the knot!".

I am very pleased with the way this turned out. Now to see what other designs I can create.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting today. Don't forget to stop by the Sisterhood tomorrow for another challenge that I will be hosting.
