Love Birds Wedding

Hello everyone! I am happy to announce that today begins a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters. Diane is the hostess of this "White on White" theme. Monochromatic cards have always been difficult for me, but I am very pleased with the way this card turn out.

I started with a white card stock base embossed with the swiss dot folder. Next I wrapped a piece of netting around the card and tied a bow around the center with satin ribbon. Using my SU Bird Punch, I made two birds and adhered them with glue dots on top of the ribbon.

This would also make a beautiful anniversary card. I think it would be beautiful in gold/white for a 50th anniversary or silver/white for a 25th.

If you like a great challenge why not head on over to the Sisterhood, check out my Sistah's inspiration projects and enter your creation? Remember you have until  8pm Sunday, August 7th to enter. Good Luck!

Hugs,
Terri

Make My Day

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a great day. The Sisterhood of Crafters is beginning a new challenge today. Our hostess, Vickie, is challenging you to create a project using an animal as your focus.

Normally, I would choose an image of a dog, cat, bird or butterfly. But this time I decided to use a picture of a more exotic animal, the snow leopard. I love to go to the zoo and see all of the animals, but the snow leopard is my favorite. The beautiful white coat with dark spots and those crystal blue eyes make mesmerize me.

Here is the card I created:
I found the picture on Pinterest and wanted to create a jungle theme. The background paper is from a Provo Craft Scrap pad. This was adhered to a strip of dark brown card stock and placed onto the left side of the card. The sentiment was typed on my computer and then matted with the same designer paper and brown card stock. Next I used my leaf sprig die to cut four pieces for the right hand corners from dark brown card stock. I then glued 2 flower petals together to create each of the flowers and added a pearl to the center.

I think I will save this card to give to my husband the next time he wakes me from a sound sleep at 1 am. This has happened more than once and the problem is I toss and turn the rest of the night trying to get back to sleep. I don't know about you, but I need a good 8 hours of un-interupted sleep to make it through the day.

If you want to participate in a fun challenge, head on over to the Sisterhood to see the inspiration projects by the 'sistahs', then enter your project. You have until 8pm Sunday, July 24th to enter.

Hope to see you there.

Terri

Petite Gift Boxes

Hello again! Yesterday I shared a photo of the necklaces I created for little girls. Today I would like to share the gift boxes I created for them. These little boxes were made using my Envelope Bunch Board. They are easy to make and and quick to put together.

The designer paper is from DCWV's Nana's Nursery Baby Girl Pack and is the thickness of a light weight card stock. I thought the delicate designs and colors would be perfect for these boxes. I found the paper flowers in the $1.50 bins at Michaels. Red line tape was used to put the boxes together. You can find the directions for these boxes here. Sam Hammond, the lady doing the tutorial, is from the UK, but she has the measurements in inches and centimeters.

Hopefully the necklace and gift box set will be good sellers. I still have to make a gift card or tag to go with them. That is on my list for tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me. Don't forget there is a new challenge beginning over at Crafting With An Attitude today. You have until 8pm Sunday, July 31st to enter. Be sure to stop by and see the beautiful inspiration projects my design team has created.

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,
Terri

Bugs 'n Owls

Over the weekend I found a pin for the cutest little bug magnets on Pinterest here. Since I don't use a lot of magnets, I decided to make some of these into cute little bug and owl necklaces for our little girl divas.

I purchased a bag of large clear pebble disks from our local dollar store. A 1 inch punch was used to punch out the owls and circles of designer paper. Next I used mod podge to adhere the circles to the back of the pebbles. When that dried, I added more mod podge to the designer paper and adhered 1 inch black card stock circles. I used a coat of mod podge to seal the black circles and let it dry. I found necklace bails at Joan Craft Store and the nylon cord was purchased from Pat Catan's. Using E6000 adhesive, I glued the bails to the back of the disk. The cord was cut to a length of 28 inches, strung through the bail and tied in a knot.

Now I am trying to decide how to package them. I thought about making a small box and adding a tag that says "Bugs and Kisses for Someone Special". Or I could attach the necklace to a card with "Bugs & Kisses" on the front and add "for a special girl" on the inside. Do you have any suggestions? Please let me know.

Time to close and get busy. Have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Terri
