Birthday Ribbons

Hello, everyone! Our hostess, Anna, has a new challenge for you over at the Sisterhood of Crafters. Your challenge is to create a project using ribbons.

I decided to use 2 bright colored striped ribbons and flowers on my creation. Both ribbons are from the American Crafts Elements line.
I cut 2 strips of the green and white striped ribbon measuring 3 1/2" and 2 1/2" and 3 strips of the multicolored ribbon measuring 4", 3" and 2" then cut them at an angle. Next I added the candy buttons using pop dots. Looking through my stash, I found the blue, orange and green flowers. (The bottom flower looks blue, but is actually a light green.) The butterfly was cut from a Memory Box die on my Cut 'n Boss machine from bright green and blue card stock, glued together and adhered with a glue dot. I added crystal gems for the body and fussy cut black card stock for antennae. (Unfortunately, I forgot to add them before taking this picture.)

The "Happy Birthday" greeting was stamped with Fun Stampers Journey Black Licorice Ink and on the inside I added the following verse:
 Flutter Flutter Glide
a butterfly at play,
bringing birthday wishes
on you very special day.

Since there are so many pearls and gems on this card, I will probably save it for a relative or friend's birthday. I wouldn't want it to get caught in the machine at the post office.

That's my project for today. Now hop on over to the Sisterhood for more inspiration and enter your creation. Remember you have until 8pm (est), Sunday September 14th to enter.

Hugs,
Terri

Bright, Colorful Get Well

The card I am sharing with you today is "CASED" from the card found here. This is one of the cards my friend, Judy, and I used for our card class on Saturday, August 6th. We only had two ladies, but both are planning to come back next month and hope to bring friends with them.
I found this lime green card stock in my stash and then added the designer paper by DCWV. The flower is a silk daisy with a pearl added to the center. I used my Martha Stewart doily punch to create the border on the folded corner. The folded part is adhered with a glue runner. I used glue dots to adhere the flower, button and ribbon. As you can see, I forgot to add the sentiment before I took the picture. This would also make a beautiful birthday, thinking of you, Mother's Day or other card.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me today.

 Have a great day!

Hugs,
Terri

Love of Nature

Our hostess for the next Sisterhood of Crafter's challenge is Agata. She has chosen "Close to Nature" as her theme. My husband and I have always loved to take walks through the woods. My mother-in-law's house was on an acre and a half with a river running through it. It was so relaxing walking the trails and seeing the changes of the seasons. Since my mother-in-law has moved to Virginia with her daughter and son-in-law, we don't get a chance to take walks through the woods now.

For my project, I chose this beautiful picture found on Pinterest. I love all the bright colors of the flowers and leaves.

The background paper is by Provo Craft. The mat and picture were cut with my Nestibilities dies and Cut 'n Boss cutting machine. The stem was cut with a Memory Box die from bright green card stock. I found the sentiment on Pinterest and typed it onto white card stock then cut it out and matted it with black card stock. Next I added the purple and yellow ribbon flowers and green paper flowers.  Last I wrapped black grosgrain ribbon around the front of the card and tied it in a knot.

Wouldn't this be a lovely spot to sit quietly and gather your thoughts? It looks so calm and serene.

Now, why not stop by the Sisterhood and enter your creation? You have until 8pm (est), Sunday, August 21st to enter.

Hugs,
Terri

Autumn Spray

For the new Sisterhood of Crafters challenge beginning today, the theme is "Close to Nature, hosted by Agata. I made this card using fall colored leaves cut on my Cameo Silhouette.

I started with a white card stock base and added this designer paper with a design so it would not detract from the leaves. Then I added a strip of Offray natural colored ribbon. After cutting the leaves on my Cameo, I glued them together and used sticky strip to adhere to the ribbon. Last I layered the beautiful gold ribbon onto the gold organdy ribbon and tied a bow. I used glue dots to adhere the bow to the top of the spray.

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the beautiful array of colors against the blue sky. Hopefully, my husband and I will be able to have a day off together this fall to take a walk and get some pictures before the cold weather sets in.

Now, why not hop on over to the Sisterhood for more inspiration from my 'sistahs' and join in the fun? You have until 8pm Sunday August 21st to enter. You may enter up to 3 projects.

Have a fabulous day!

Hugs,
Terri

Bee Happy

When I found this cute stamp set by Jillibean Soup stamps, I had to hurry home and create this card. I just love all the little bugs and sentiments that are in this set. The bugs include: butterfly, bee, worm and ladybug. The sentiments are: Love Bug, Don't Worry Bee Happy, Happy Bug Day & Bugs and Kisses.

I started with a white card base 4 1/4" x 11" folded in half. The honey comb designer paper is from one of the Reflections packs sold at Michaels. Using my Nestibilities circle dies, I cut out the circle and adhered the panel to the white card stock base. Next, I stamped the bee images with Fun Stamper's Journey Black Licorice ink. I used FSJ's Lemon Drop ink to stamp the tiny hearts.
The sentiment was stamped with FSJ Black Licorice ink and layered on a strip of black cardstock. I found this cute bee button in my stash and added the black with white dot ribbon. The paper flowers were purchased from Michaels and I cut a 2 leaves with my Martha Stewart leaf punch.

This is my inspiration project for the challenge at Crafting With An Attitude that begins today.
Why not hop on over and check out my design team's inspiration projects and then enter your creation in this fun challenge? You have until 8pm Sunday, August 28th to enter.

Hugs,
Terri
