Vickie is our hostess for the next challenge at the Sisterhood
beginning today. The theme for this challenge is "Winter Blues - Let's
Take A Vacation"! After 4 months of cold, cloudy days I am ready for a
vacation somewhere warm.
If
I could go on a vacation now it would be to the beach. When I look at
the picture I used as the focus of my creation, I can almost feel the
warm breeze and the heat of the sand. It would be great to spend a day
beside the water in a hammock reading.
The
background paper looks like burlap and the stamps are from an Inkadoo
stamp set called "Coastal". After stamping the images I fussy cut around
them and used a glue runner to adhere them to the corners of the card
front.
About
3 years ago, my husband and I visited my sister-in-law, her two
daughters and their families for about 3 days. My younger niece is the
night manager at a hotel right on Myrtle Beach and we had a room
overlooking the ocean and swimming pool. It was wonderful going to sleep
at night and waking up in the morning to the sound of the waves. I
spend most of my time wading in and out of the water and finding sea
shells. It was so relaxing.
Where would you like to vacation? Why not share your creations with us at the Sisterhood of Crafters?
You have until 8pm Sunday February 19th to enter. For more inspiration,
check out the Sistah's projects. Remember there is a limit of 3 entries
per person.
Hope to see you there. Happy Crafting!
Hugs,
Terri

Hearts for a Friend
The Sisterhood of Crafters begins a new challenge today with Darlene as our hostess. The theme for this challenge is the color "RED". Use the color red somewhere on your project using the photo below for inspiration.
While shopping at our local Pat Catan's craft store I found a beautiful piece of Core'dinations swirled red card stock and decided to use this for the background of my project.
To create the mat for the hearts, I layered a white strip of card stock onto a piece of the red and then onto a strip of black card stock. Once I had the layers together I adhered the piece to the front of the card overlapping the sides. I then trimmed the card stock at an angle. I used Stampin' Ups! "I (Heart) Hearts" stamp set and Fun Stamper's Journey "Candy Apple Red" ink pad to stamp the images on white card stock. Then I fussy cut around the hearts and used pop dots to add dimension. Last I added the pretty white daisy flowers to the top right and bottom left corners.
I have entered this creation into the following challenges:

Baby Congratulations!
Today,
I have another baby card I would like to share with you. I just love
this set of stamps from Stampin' Up called "Something for Baby".
Starting with a white card base 4 1/4" by 11", I used my Cuttlebug "Daisy" embossing folder to emboss 3/4 of the card front. Next I used an SU Pink Passion marker to color the centers of the daisies. Then I used my Fun Stampers Journey Watermelon Fusion ink to stamp the booties onto white card stock then punched them out with my 1 3/4" circle punch and matted with a 2" punched scalloped circle of Pink Passion card stock. I also used the same ink to stamp the sentiment at the top of the card. Before adhering the booties, I wrapped the striped ribbon around the card and adhered with glue dots on the front. Foam dots were used to adhere the booty panel over the ribbon ends and add dimension.
I haven't used my embossing folders very much and I decided to I needed to work with them more. They add such a nice touch to any card.
Thank you for stopping by today. I really love to hear from my crafting buddies out there, so if you have time leave a comment.
Also want to remind you that I have a Design Team Call out for my new challenge blog "The Stinkin' Inkers". If you are interested in applying, stop by the site for more information.
Hugs,
Terri

Brand New
The older daughter of one of my friends is expecting a baby in March, so I decided I better get started on some baby cards. I grabbed my Stampin' Up "Something For Baby" stamp set and got to work. For the card below I used the duck stamp and then chose the sentiment from the Fiskars "Precious Baby Quotes stamp set.
I used my Darice dots embossed folder to create the background. Next I stamped the duck onto white card stock using my Fun Stampers Journey "Lemon Drop" ink pad. Then used my SU 1 3/8" punch to punch it out. Next I used my 2" scallop punch to create the mat. The yellow satin ribbon is from the Darice "Basic Expressions" line. I wrapped the ribbon around the front of the card and tied a bow. Last, using my SU word window punch, I created the sentiment panel and adhered it with glue dots to the ribbon.
I am very happy with the way this card turned out. Now it's back to work to get those creative juices busy and make more. I need to make a lot of baby cards for craft shows and personal use.
Thanks for visiting with me today.

Terri
