Ready for Spring

Hello everyone! I am so ready for spring. Felt so good to get back into my craft room today. It has been so cold here in Northeastern Ohio that my poor heater in my attic craft room couldn't keep up. Thankfully, it is in the 20's today and I can get back to work. While shopping at a local craft store, I found these cute Sesame Street die cuts by EK Success and thought they would be perfect for kid cards.  There are approximately 40 pieces in the package. The cardstock is the Brights Patterned Stack by Core'dinations. These cards could be used for birthday, just a note, thinking of you, get well, etc, so I haven't added a sentiment.  Now I will always have a card on hand for that special child.

One for the Guys

Hello everyone! Have you had a chance to stop by the Sisterhood today? The challenge this week is to make a project for a special guy in your life. Both of my sons-in-law have birthdays coming up in March, so I decided to get started on cards for them. My project today is for my son-in-law, Josh, since he loves being near the water. I started with  white cardstock for the base. The designer paper is from DCWV's Natural Stack. The Vintage Compass stamp is from Stampabilities and the Lighthouse stamp is from Stampendous. Both were stamped with Encore Ultimate Metallic Copper Ink onto Ivory cardstock then layered on a Nestibilities scalloped oval mat using copper metallic cardstock by DCWV. Natural colored hemp was wrapped around the card three times and tied into a knot.

The sisters have some wonderful projects for inspiration, so why not stop by and play along?

Belated Valentines Day

Hello Everyone! Today I want to share a couple of Valentine Cards with you. I was asked to demo card making to a garden club last Tuesday evening. Unfortunately, due to the weather and illness the program was cancelled. Here are the cards I was planning on sharing with the group.

Card 1

 

I cased this card from one I found on pinterest. I don't know who the original pinner was, so if you recognize this card layout, please let me know so I can give due credit. 

Card 2

Both card were created with white cardstock as the base. I used the swirled embossing folder on the panel and the hearts on Card 1. Red paper is SU Real Red and designer paper is from DCWV's  Valentine pad. The sentiment is a See Dees stamp.

For Card 2, I used white cardstock for the base, a red doily heart for the frame and Nestibilities Swiss Dot embossing folder  for the heart. The hearts on the center of heart panel were found at a local craft store and ribbon for both cards were found at a local discount store, The sentiment is the same as for Card 1. Heart punches were used to cut hearts for both cards.

Love Is In The Air

Good morning! Once again I forgot to post my project for the sisterhood challenge. For this challenge, "Love is in the Air",  we would like to see your creations of love. Your project could be valentines, wedding, anniversary, etc. I found the image at The Warehouse of Hobby Images and thought it would be perfect for an anniversary card. White cardstock was used for the card base. The background paper and blue panel are from the Tres Chic Stack by DCWV. I used one of my Nestabiity dies to cut the image panel and the small oval punch for the sentiment. The flowers were found in the wedding department of a local craft store and then I added pearls to the upper right hand corner to balance everything.

Grow Your Blog

Hello everyone! Terri here and I am so glad you stopped by my blog. I created my blog to share my passion for rubber stamping. I love making greeting cards, 3D projects and scrapbooking. Something Old, Something New

Good Morning everyone! It's a little warmer today, but still very cold.  Staying in again today and doing some reorganizing in my craft room. Before I get back to work on that I wanted to share my project for the first challenge of the New Year at the sisterhood. I am thrilled to be the hostess of this challenge "Something Old, Something New". Your challenge is to use a new product on your creation.

My new product is the "Fabulous Flox" die set from Memory Box. I think the flowers and leaves were the perfect touch for this vintage card. Now for the recipe:

Base: white cardstock
Paper: Sweet Memories (came with a magazine)
             Ivory cardstock
             Passion Pink cardstock
             Brown pearls

Christmas Card 3

For today's card, I chose this image I found on pinterest from Janet K Designs blog. Her images are gorgeous and are free to download. Once again I chose the background papers from the DCWV Christmas & Winter Stack. The image was layered on white cardstock and raised up using pop dots. I love the silver snowflakes on the ribbon. I also added red jewels on two corners.

This image takes me back to my childhood Christmases. Now I enjoy Christmas magic through the eyes of my three grandchildren.

Simply Homemade

Good morning! Wow, has it been cold here in Northeastern Ohio the past few days. Perfect weather for staying in a nice warm house and crafting. However, my project for the sisterhood challenge was made at Darlene's on a nice warm day. This week's challenge is titled "Simply Homemade." My project is a gift box made with red cardstock. The image is one of K & Company's die cut, that Darlene gave me layered on green cardstock. The band around the box and the background designer papers are from DCWV's Christmas Stack.  The snowflakes were punched out of white cardstock using the Martha Stewart snowflake punch. This box would be perfect for a bracelet, necklace or other small item for that special person.

Christmas Card 2

I just love vintage images and when I saw this pretty little girl with her tree on pinterest, I knew I had to use her on a card. I repinned this image from lilac_n_lavendar blog. She has some beautiful images. Now for the details The paper is from DCWV's Christmas & Winter Stack. My cardbase is white and the paper has snowflakes in the background. (So subtle they are hard to see.) I then layered the image onto red cardstock, then onto the green and trimmed around each layer to mimic the edge of the image. The red metallic ribbon looks so festive, don't you think?

Christmas Card 1

Oh, my goodness! Can you believe that 1 month from today is Christmas? So much to do and so little time left. Today I want to share a Christmas Card I created while at my play date with Darlene. In the next few days I will share some of my other creations. The base of my card is white cardstock. The designer paper is from DCWV's Christmas & Winter Stack. Background designer paper is from two different papers in the stack.The center panel was cut from a piece of designer paper and layered onto white cardstock with pop dots. Stitched ribbon, purchased from a local craft store was wrapped around center panel. This was such an easy card to create with these delicious papers. Don't forget stop by tomorrow for my next creation.

Time To Play

Good morning! Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend the day with Darlene and her daughter, Carolyn. We had so much fun catching up and creating. This was just the inspiration I needed. It's great to craft with friends and bounce ideas off of each other. I hope to upload some pictures of some of the projects I have been working on tomorrow. I can hardly wait till January 8th, when I will host the challenge for the Sisterhood. In the meantime, why not stop by the Sisterhood and check out the next challenge. Beautiful Day

What a beautiful sight when I looked out my window this morning. The trees and ground covered with glistening snow. I don't like going out in the snow, but love to see the beauty of a fresh fallen snow. This will be a good day to stay in and start organizing my craft room. Yesterday I finally packed all the summer clothes and pulled out the winter. Also sorted and will be taking some things to the local Good Will. The next 2 days my husband and I will be heading to Amish country for a little break. Just staying one night, but it is always so relaxing. Well off to get breakfast and more cleaning. Thanks for all the congratulations on my retirement. I am blessed to have so many friends. Have a blessed day everyone!

I'm Back!

I am so happy to announce that I retired on November 1st. Now maybe I will be able to get my craft room in organized. It has been almost a year since I was able to do any crafting. Beginning in January, I will once again be part of the Sisterhood Design Team. January 8th, I will host the bi-weekly challenge. Make sure to stop by the Sisterhood challenge blog and take part in the challenges. I am really looking forward to seeing your creations.

A lot has happened in the past year. My younger daughter and her husband had a baby girl on July 29, 2012. It's hard to believe she is now 15 months old, walking, talking and is the joy of our lives. My older daughter and her husband are expecting baby number 3 in April. Hopefully, we will know the 20th of this month if we will have a granddaughter or grandson. Now that I am retired, I can spend more time with them.

My husband and I are truly blessed. We are looking forward to the holidays and enjoying the company of family and friends.

Beautiful Day

Even though this has been a gloomy rainy day, it is still beautiful to me. I have been in bed for the last 3 days with the flu. Was only able to drink fluids for those three days and starting last night, I was thrilled to be able to eat a little fruit salad, popsicles and jello. My husband has been so good to me. On his lunch hour last night, he stopped at the store to buy these items along with some gingerale. Still feeling a little achy and too weak to be up for long periods of time, but not sleeping as much. Discovered I had lost 8 lbs during this time. I did need to lose weight, but not like this. Hoping to be able to go back to work on Monday.

When I am back on my feet, I want to post pictures of the "Trash to Treasures" mini album I am working on. My friend, Judy, showed me how to make paper from plastic grocery bags. There is a tutorial of this on YouTube if you would to give it a try. It really is a fantastic technique.

Exciting News!

My husband and I just found out that grandchild number 3 is due on August 17th.
Our younger daughter and son-in-law are so excited. This is their first child. We hope to find out around the middle of March if we will have another grandson or granddaughter. Our older daughter and her husband were very excited to know that they will be an aunt and uncle and that their children will have a cousin.

So much going on haven't had time to craft. One of my friends and I got together yesterday and made paper out of white plastic bags. I am going to Amish country the end of March with some friends for a weekend of scrapbooking and this is one of the projects we will be working on. I will post the directions and samples of the finished album when I get back. I know my friend found the directions on a website and will post the web address as well.

Vintage Note Cards

This week I want to share some note cards I made during my playdate with Darlene. The images are from Nice Crane Designs and Dar shared them with me. Aren't they gorgeous?

The background paper is DCWV. I used a Spellbinder Nestibilities border and Stampin' Up Blush Pink cardstock for the top border.

I'm Baaaaaaack....

This past year was  very hectic for me. Due to federal and state budget cuts our library was forced to cut hours and staff. Our community was generous and passed a levy last year so we could try to recoup. However, we got hours back, but we are still short staffed. In the past year, we lost four part-time employees and only two were replaced. Things are starting to slow down and I hope to have more time for crafting.


I was so excited to spend this past Tuesday with my friend, Darlene. With Dar's inspiration and some vintage images she so generously shared with me, I was able to create 16 cards.  I would like to share 4 sympathy cards I made using Nice Crane Designs images.

While on vacation this week, I have been working on getting my craft room in order. Although it is not completely finished, I do have room to start creating again. It is wonderful to be back and to share future projects with you.

Let's Hear It For The Boys!

This week's challenge at the Sisterhood is to create a project for the guys. I chose to use Boni's image called "Armchair Arnie" from Dude Time Doodles for a birthday card. Ribbon and Brads, Oh My!

I am excited to be the hostess for the challenge at the Sisterhood. This week's challenge is to use ribbon and brads on your creation. My images "Grandma's Parlor" and "Maltese" are from Wink Wink Ink. My inspiration came from my maltese "Max" who loves to sit beside me on the sofa or a chair. Offray brown gingham ribbon was used to create the baseboard and brads are the center of the pillows. I used pop dots to give a 3-D effect to some of the images. The background papers and letter tiles are from ?

Valentine Fairy

This week at the Sisterhood of Crafters, Darlene is hosting the "In Love with Valentine's" challenge. My image "Wistful Fairy" is from the Delicious Doodles Shop. The background paper is from K & Co's Valentine pack. The sentiment was cut from another paper in this pack. The image was colored with artist colored pencils (an off brand). The colors are much brighter than this picture shows. The sleeves and waist sash are lavender and her wings are silver. (I am trying to get the hang of a new computer and printer.) She looks as though she is dreaming of a special someone.
