Birthday Yacht

Hello, everyone! I think my brain took a short vacation this week. I completely forgot to tell you about the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters. It began Wednesday, with Darlene as our hostess. Her theme is "Create Your Own Background".

Now that summer has truly arrived in Northeast Ohio, I began to think of all the fun water activities. So I decided to go with a Nautical theme.

To create the background, I used my Darice "Wheel and Anchor" embossing folder, then inked the embossing with Stampin' Up's "Bashful Blue" ink pad. The white wheels on red background paper is from the Authentique "Anchored" paper pad. I adhered the embossed panel with glue runner. The yacht and birds were cut from black card stock on my Silhouette Cameo. The yacht was attached using a glue runner and the birds were adhered with foam dots for dimension. The banner was created with the red wheels paper and white card stock. "Happy Birthday" was stamped with Fun Stampers Journey Black Licorice ink. I added natural twine through the button holes and tied in a knot, then adhered the button with a glue dot. Last I tied natural twine around the card 4 times and tied it in a knot.

My husbands birthday is in July, so this will be the perfect card for him. He loves anything related to the water, so I guess I will have to find him a new nautical decoration for his work room. He has so many now, it is getting harder to find something he doesn't have already.

I hope you all have had a chance to see the beautiful inspiration projects created by my 'sistahs'.

If not, why not check them out now, then enter your own project. Remember you have until 8pm, Sunday July 3rd to enter. Have fun and Good Luck!

Hugs,
Terri

Glowing Fairies

Today I want to share my version of the fairy jars found on Pinterest. I haven't decided if I am going to keep these lights or use them as gifts. They were so much fun to make and I do plan on making more.

After cutting the Silhouette fairy designs on my Silhouette Cameo, I applied Mod Podge to the inside of the jar and added the fairies. Once that was done, I applied Mod Podge to the outside of the jar and placed tissue paper over the top. Once it dried, I applied Mod Podge again and sprinkled Diamond Dust over it. When the Mod Podge dried, I added ivory lace around the top of the jar. Next I added a piece of ivory ribbon and a burlap flower. Last, I added a battery operated twinkling votive candle.

Now that we have our canopy up and our glass top table set up, I might use these when we sit outside at night. That just gave me another idea. Now to find some canning jars and some clear Christmas lights.

Thanks for stopping by visiting with me today.

Until tomorrow...

Terri

Picnic Time

Hello, everyone! Sorry I have been gone so long. I had a few minor health issues, but I am now back into the swing of things.

I am so excited to be the hostess for the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters. Our theme for this challenge is "Summertime". May was a very cold and wet month here in Northeast Ohio. Temperatures ranged from mid 30's to mid 50's most days accompanied by rain showers almost every day. Thankfully, the warm weather has finally reached us and I can hardly wait to have a picnic.

As you can see by the title of this post, the theme of my card is Picnic. I found these cute images on Pinterest. Isn't that the cutest little ant? I fussy cut his leg from black card stock. Oops! Just realized I forgot his antennae. Poor little guy, I will definitely have to fix that.
I started with a white card base and added this pretty red and white qingham designer paper by Recollections from Michaels. I made the sentiment panel on my computer and matted it with black card stock. I found the black with white dot grosgrain ribbon at a craft store that is now out of business. It was my favorite places to buy ribbon because I could get spools of ribbon measure 15 yds. -25 yds. and it wasn't very expensive. I may have to look on line to see if I can find anything similar.

That's all I have for today. You have until 7pm (est), Sunday, June 19th to enter your creations. Why not stop by the Sisterhood and check out the design team's inspiration?

If you have a chance stop by the Crafting With An Attitude challenge blog for another fun challenge.

Until next time,

Hugs,
Terri

The Earth Laughs

Hello, everyone! I can't believe I haven't posted anything since March. Life just keeps getting in the way of my crafting. Hopefully, everything has settled down and I can get back to my regular routine.

My friend, Judy, and I have been very busy working on projects to put in her daughter, Jen's new store called "Starving Artist". Jen sells local artists works, upcycled furniture, unique lighting fixtures made by her finance and his brother, and anything that Judy and I make.

The card pictured is one cased from one found on Pinterest.

The card base is a coral color and is from a stationary set found at Hollo's Paper Store in Brunswick, Ohio.

I found the designer paper at Pat Catan's and it matched the card base perfectly. I cut the berry basket from the Silhouette Design Store on my Silhouette Cameo. Judy and I cut the four sides apart to make four baskets for the front of the cards. I typed the sentiment onto white card stock on my computer and cut strips to make the banner. The banner is adhered with a foam dot and the flower and pearl are adhered with glue dots. Last we wrapped hemp cord around the flower packet twice and tied in a bow.

This would make a wonderful gift for someone who likes gardening or for Mom on Mother's Day.

Judy and I have lots of ideas for cards and other crafts to sell in Jen's store. I will try to post pictures of the finished projects. We made Graduation cards using the colors of local schools, unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of them. (I seem to be having more and more senior moments every day.)

That's the project for today. Stop by tomorrow and check out my fairy jars.

Have a great day.

Hugs,
Terri
