Winter Friends

Hello everyone. For my inspiration post at LeAnn's World 101, I chose this sweet image called "Winter Friends" for my focus.
The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and framed with a piece of green designer paper. This was adhered to the snowman designer paper. I cut 2 trees from another piece of designer paper and used pop dots to give them dimension. While looking for ribbon to add to the top, I found this beautiful organdy ribbon with reindeer embossed on it and tied it into a knot.
I hope you till stop by LeAnn's World Challenge Blog and join in on this fun challenge.

Winter Drive

Brrrr! Well, winter has arrived here in Northeast Ohio.  In the hopes of a white Christmas, I decided to create a card that gives the feeling of a beautiful winter day for the Sisterhood of Crafters challenge beginning today. Our hostess for this challenge is Vickie and her theme is:
"Create a Winter Scene"
The image for my card is from a set of digi stamps given to the members of Richard Garay's Facebook group RG Studio360.

The base card is Navy Blue card stock. The background paper is from a DCWV Christmas pad. After printing out the two trucks, I colored them with Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut around them. Two pieces of white card stock were torn to make the hills of snow. The trucks were adhered with pop dots to add dimension. I used a Fiskars small punch to create the snowflakes and added clear gems to the center. The sentiment panel was included with the truck digi stamps.

Be sure to stop by the Sisterhood to check out the design team's beautiful inspiration projects and join in the fun.

Happy Holidays!

Matt & Molly Rockin'

Hello everyone! The new challenge begins today at Leann's World 101. I am definitely in the Christmas mood and wanted to express the fun and excitement around this time of year.

I chose this sweet image of Matt and Molly dancing for my focus. Looks like they are having a great time and makes me want to party.
The base card is white card stock and the designer paper is from a pack of Stampin' Up paper I had purchased quite a few years ago. This was one of my favorite packs of paper and thankfully I had enough left to create this card. The image was colored with Prismacolor pencil and after threading the green satin ribbon through the button holes, I tied them in bows and ahered them with a heavy glue.

I would love for you to join our challenge at Leann's World 101. Why not stop by and check out the design team's inspiration projects and enter for your chance to win.

Leann is also having a 12 Days of Christmas Event on her Facebook Group page. Check it out if you have a chance.

Until next time...

Lavender Bouquet

The Sisterhood of Crafters begins a new challenge today with Debbie as our hostess. The theme for this challenge is:
"Stitched Dies"
When I found a pack of 3D decoupage flowers, I knew they would be perfect for this challenge.
The base of the card is a piece of Recollections lavender card stock. Next I added this beautiful piece of lace, then the oval stitched die panel. Then I began layering the 3D flower pieces and added white pearls to the corners. I did not add a sentiment because I am not sure how I will use this card. It would make a beautiful Birthday, Sympathy, Thinking of You, Get Well or Encouragement card.

If you would like to take part in this challenge, just head on over to the Sisterhood, check out the other team members inspiration projects and enter your own creation.

Have a wonderful day!

Angel Music

Today at LeAnn's World 101, I shared a project for my inspiration post using the image "Musica" found here.

I started with a base of white card stock and added a panel of Christmas Reindeer designer paper. Next I cut a 2 1/2" square, cut it in half diagonally and added a piece to the top left and bottom right corners. The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and I used a gold glitter gel pen for the harp. Using my Cuttlebug, I cut the mat and the image panel with cross stitched rectangle dies. The image was adhered to the mat with pop dots to add dimension. The sentiment was stamped with India ink onto a strip of white card stock and adhered to a strip of the Reindeer paper. The sentiment strip was also adhered to the bottom right hand corner with pop dots. The gold metallic ribbon was added to coordinate with the gold on the harp.

I hope you will stop by LeAnn's World 101 and join in on the fun. This is a month-long, "Anything Goes" challenge. The design team has created some gorgeous projects for your inspiration.

Darlene is the hostess of the next challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters and the theme is:
"Mood Board"
Create a card or project using the photos below as your inspiration.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and so I chose this beautiful photo found on Pinterest to create my Thanksgiving card.

The base card is medium brown card stock, then I created a mat with Pumkin card stock. The leaf stems were created using a Sizzix die. The leaf stem is actually bigger than the pieces on the card, but I cut a few leaves off each stem so it would fit better. Then I added the pearls for dimension. I love the verse. It reminds me to always be thankful for God's blessings.

Why not stop by the Sisterhood and see the inspiration projects the team has to share and then enter your creations?

Hope to see you there.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Time to Laugh

The theme for the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters, hosted by Darlene is:
"Humor"
Created a card or project that shows us what you find funny.
The stamp I used on my project has been in my stash for quite some time. I was having a hard time finding a sentiment to go with it when I remembered I had purchased a couple of funny sentiment stamps a couple of years ago.
 (front)

(inside)
The card base was created using white card stock and adding the striped paper by DCWV. SU's scalloped punch was used to create the black mats and SU's circle punch was used to create the gray panel for the sentiment and face stamps. Wiggle eyes were adhered with clear glue. The inside sentiment was stamped onto a white strip and adhered to a black strip. Pop dots were used to add dimension to the inside sentiment panel. Last I added 3 white pearls to the upper right hand corner.

The design team would love to see your humorous projects, so why not head on over to the Sisterhood and enter the challenge?

Wanderer

For new challenge at Crafting With An Attitude, I wanted to do a fall scene. My husband and I love to hike in the wood's when time permits so for the focus of my card I chose this image from Sheepski Designs called Wanderer.
Starting with a white card stock base, I then added the beautiful forest image found on Pinterest. After coloring the digi of the Wanderer and squirrel with prismacolor pencils, I fussy cut around them and adhered with pop dots for dimension. The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white card stock and adhered with a glue runner. Last a I added the flowers that have been in my stash forever and added an ivory pearl for the center.

I did not add a sentiment inside, because I'm not sure if I will use this card for a retirement or birthday card. It would work well for either.

The challenge at Crafting With An Attitude ends on October 28th, so you still have time to enter. My team has some beautiful inspiration projects to share with you.

"Fall" has officially arrived here in Northeast Ohio. Along with cooler temperatures come bonfires, hayrides, apples, pumpkins, scarecrows and Halloween.

Since I am hostess for the next challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters, I have chosen the theme:
"Cute Spooks"

Apple Pickin' Time

Marsha is our hostess for the next challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters.
The theme she has chosen is:
"Fall is in the Air"
What comes to mind when you think of Fall? I love heading to the orchard to pick apples. This year, I will have to settle for purchasing some at a farm market.

For the focus of my project, I chose this digi of a basket of apples. The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils.

I started with a white card stock base and added the white/green striped designer paper. Next I added a strip of light brown card stock to the left side. The image was adhered to a panel of red/white gingham designer paper and layered onto the card. Last I add the stitched green grosgrain ribbon from Stampin' Up. I used black ink to stamp the sentiment in the lower right hand corner. It is hard to tell from the photo, but some of the apples were cut from another copy of the image and adhered with pop dots.

We would love to see your creations. Head on over to the Sisterhood and check out the inspiration projects by my sistah's. Then enter your project for a chance to be our next Top Winner.

Lookin' Sharp

Diane is the hostess for the next challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters that begins today and here theme is:
"Cozy Plaid"
I decided to use my new Truly Taylored stamp set from Stampin' Up and matching punch for this challenge.
Beginning with a brown card stock base I added plaid paper from DCWV. Then I cut 3 squares from brown card stock, cut one in half for the collar and added the third for a pocket. After stamping and fussy cutting the glasses, I added them to the pocket. Then I stamped the sentiment, punched it out and adhered it to a piece fo brown card stock. Using my scissors, I trimmed the brown to about 1/4" around the sentiment for a mat. Last I add the orange red buttons.

My older brother has a birthday coming up in November. I think I will send this card to him. He wears a lot of polo shirts, so this will be perfect.

Hello everyone! Are you up for a new challenge at the Stinkin' Inkers?

I found this image of leaves and berries on Pinterest and decided it would be the perfect image for this challenge.
Studio 71 markers from Pat Catans were used to color the image. I just love the bright colors. I don't remember where I got the sentiment stamp, but I thought it fit perfectly with the flourish around the image. After adhering everything to the tan card base, I splattered Fun Stampers Gold Silk in onto the card.

This card could be used as a Thank You, Thinking of You or Encouragement card. Sometimes we all need to know we matter and are loved.

Printed Page

This week's challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters is hosted by Vickie. The theme for this challenge is:
"Printed Page Background"
The background for my card is a piece of card stock from DCWV that fits the theme perfectly.

Before adhering the printed panel to a white card stock base, I used a sponge to add gray ink to the panel. Then I stamped the flower silhouette in gray on a white square of card stock and added 3 black gems. This panel was matted with a square black panel. The sentiment panel was created in the same way. Black organdy ribbon was added to the image panel, then adhered to the base with pop dots for dimension. The sentiment panel was also adhered with pop dots. Last I added black satin ribbon to the side.

Steamed Heat

A new challenge has begun a the Stinkin' Inkers and the theme is:
"Steamed Heat"
Create a card or project using an image that reminds you of summer.
I love anything vintage and retro, so when I found this image on Pinterest I knew it would be perfect for this theme. The printed background reminded me of sand dollars found at the beach and was adhered to a white card stock base. I cut the doily in half and attached it to the back of the card, then adhered the panel to the designer paper. After stamping the sentiment in black ink onto a strip of white card stock I fussy cut around it. I attached the sentiment panel to a strip of kraft paper and fussy cut again. I used pop dots to give the panel dimension. Next I added the white ribbon tied a knot. Last I stamped the sea star and sea shell with light brown ink, attached to the card with pop dots and added a pearl center.

This is where I would like to be right now. Sitting beside the sea, reading a book, with an ice cold drink.

Okay, now it's your turn. Head on over to the Stinkin' Inkers challenge blog, check out the fabulous inspiration projects by my team and enter your creations for a chance to be our top winner.

Sunny Days

Debbie is our hostess for the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters. Her theme for this challenge is "Summer Vacation".

I would love to be on the beach soaking up some sun and relaxing as the waves roll in. I found these summer stickers in my stash and started creating my project.

Stampin' Up "Blue Bashful" card stock was layered onto a white card base.  I then tore a piece of light brown card stock and added it to the blue for the sand. The clouds were fussy cut and adhered with pop dots. I stamped the sentiment with black ink onto the largest cloud. Using my 2" Ek success scallop punch I created the sun using yellow gingham designer paper.

I can picture myself laying back on the lounge chair with a book in my hand and a nice tall glass of ice tea. Would you like to come along with me?

Retirememt Journey

This month's challenge at the Stinkin' Inkers is:
"Trains, Planes and Automobiles"
For my project I chose to create a card using a retro car stamp from Hot Off The Press.
The car was stamped with Versafine Black ink, then colored with a red Studio 71 alcohol marker and fussy cut. White card stock was used to create the base of the card with a blue embossed panel by David Tutera as the background. I also used an embossed silver strip by David Tutera to showcase the car. The sentiments were stamped with the same ink and matted with red. Pop dots were used to create dimension on the car and two top sentiment panels.

Would road trips be a wonderful way to "Enjoy your retirement"?

There is still time to join in on the fun. Hop over to the Stinkin' Inkers challenge blog and check out the teams fabulous inspiration projects, then enter you own creation.

Star Congrats

The new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters, hosted by Darlene, is
"Favorite Color"
My favorite color has always been blue. Any shade of blue. So for this challenge I wanted to make a card using different shades of blue with just a touch of white.

I used a star embossing folder to emboss the light blue panel and layered that onto a navy card stock base. I then used navy ink to stamp the image onto a light blue strip and adhered that to a navy blue strip and glued to the top of the card. After cutting 3 narrow strips of navy blue card stock, adhered them to the front of the card, cutting the extra that hung over the edges. Next I cut 3 medium white stars and added small navy blue stars to the center and glued the to the center strip. Then I cut 2 medium navy stars and added 2 light blue stars to the center and glued them under the narrow strips.

This would make a great graduation or retirement card. Especially for the guys.

Head on over to the Sisterhood and check out my sistahs inpiration projects and enter you creations. Limit of 3 entries per person.

Flyin' High

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by for a visit. The new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters begins today and Darlene is our hostess. The theme is:

"Something you might see in the sky"

I always loved to take my girls to the park and fly kites. It was great seeing other families out flying their bright colored kites. Unfortunately, that seems to be a long lost activity.

I decided to try my hand at creating a kite. First, I cut the diamond shape and colored with Marvy markers.
I found this paper in my stash and that gave me the idea to create the kite. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I purchased it.

Once I created the kite I added black cord and knotted gingham ribbon to create the tail and adhered it to the background with pop dots. Then I added the red gingham bow.

I used the fancy label punch to create the sentiment panel and stamped the sentiment in black ink.

The sistahs would love to see your creations, so why not head on over to the Sisterhood and check out the inpiration projects, then enter for your chance to win.

Have a great day and as always, Happy Crafting!

I added the dotted paper to a white card stock base, then added the flower and butterfly panel. After adding the dimensional deer, Next I added the yellow cardstock butterfly sticker purchased at Michaels. The sentiment stamped onto a white card stock strip using lavender ink and then I sponged the same ink around the edge to add dimension. Last I added this purple satin bow.

May Flowers

Today begins a new challenge at the Stinkin' Inkers challenge blog and the theme is:
May Flowers
For my project, I chose to create a basket for the centerpiece of my dining table.
The basket is created from a 9" by 9" piece of bright yellow card stock. DCWV double-sided designer paper was used to decorate the sides. I found these gorgeous spring flowers and birds at Pat Catan's. After adding a peach colored ribbon to the handle, I placed a bird on each side of the ribbon facing each other.

These baskets are so easy and quick to put together. I just love making them. I am trying to decide if I should make some for craft shows this fall. What do you think?

Leaves

Time for a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters with Gwendolyn as our hostess. The theme for this challenge is
"Leaves"
My friend, Judy, gave me these beautiful stickers to use for the focus. Before applying them to the card front, I colored them with permanent markers.
I started with a base card of tan card stock, added the leaf stickers and a green organza bow. The sentiment was stamped with Fun Stampers "Cocoa" ink.
A very quick, easy clean and simple card.

Now if Mother Nature would cooperate and give us some warm sunny days here in Northeast Ohio, we might see the leaves popping on the trees.

It's your turn to share your creations with us. Head on over to the Sisterhood and check out the inspiration projects by my sistahs. Limit of 3 entries per person. You have until 8pm Sunday, May 6th to enter.

Easter Bunny

Vickie is the hostess of our newest challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters and her theme is "Bunnies". Please use an image of a bunny as the focus of your project.

I found this sweet image of a bunny with his basket of eggs and spring flowers and just knew it would be perfect for this challenge.

I started with a white card stock base and added the pink DCWV designer paper for the background. After adding the image, I then printed out and fussy cut around 3 pastel eggs. They were adhered to the card with pop dots for added dimension. The pink ribbon is from "Really Reasonable Ribbons". I typed the sentiment on my computer, printed it onto white card stock and cut it into a rectangle to add to the card.

After all the cold temperatures, I wanted to create a project that at least gave the feeling of Spring.

Tulip Time

It is beginning to look like Spring here in Northeast Ohio. We have temps in the 40's and 50's most days and the flowers are starting to bloom. I am anxious to see the tulips and daffodils.

My project for the Sisterhood of Crafters challenge beginning today is a card featuring punch art tulips.

I started with a light pink base card and added a light blue mat. Each of the flower petals were inked with a matching color of ink to create the shadow.
The petals of the flowers were created with the wing of the bird punch and the stems were fussy cut. Popdots were to used give the flowers dimension  The flower pot was made with a 2 inch square with the sides cut at an angle. Last I added a simple white satin bow and sentiment.

I hope you will hop on over to the Sisterhood and take a look at the beautiful inspiration projects from my sistahs, then enter your creations.

Birds & Daisies

Hello everyone! I am excited to share my newest creation with you for the new challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters, hosted by Darlene.

Dar has chosen the theme of "Birds" for her challenge today. I can hardly wait for all the beautiful Spring birds to show up. Last month, I did catch a glimpse of a beautiful cardinal against a background of freshly fallen snow on some of our warmer days.

Just think before long, the chickadees, goldfinches, bluejays and robins will be singing their songs to announce Spring's arrival.

So with that in mind, here is my creation for this challenge.
The background paper is from DCWV and features daisies. The image is from a pack of images by K & Company. The sentiment is from one of the Hampton Art stamp sets that I told you about last month and once again the beautiful gold edged green satin ribbon is from Reasonable Ribbon. My friend, Judy, gave me the blue and yellow card stock that I used to mat the image.

So why don't you head on over to the Sisterhood and join in the challenge? My sistahs have some gorgeous inspiration projects to share with you.

Have a great day and Happy Crafting!

Sunbonnet Bouquet

The new challenge at Crafting With An Attitude began today and for my inspiration project I chose this adorable image called "Sunbonnet Flowers" from Bugaboo for my focus.

The image was colored with Spectrum Noire colored pencils. I chose this polka dot designer paper from the Paper Studio basic pad for the background and then adhered a piece of orange lattice designer from the same pad and cut with label die. (Sorry, I forgot to write down the name & company for the die.) After fussy cutting around the image, I used pop dots for dimension and added some silk flowers to the  flower pot with white pearls for the centers. Then using my
1 1/2" scalloped circle punch and a 1 3/8" circle punch, I created the mat for the sentiment. Last I wrapped some green twine around the card twice and tied in a bow.

I remember when I was a little girl anything with sunbonnets was in style. For example: quilts, pillowcases etc. I am so glad to find digi stamps such as this.

That's my project for today. Why not head over to the Crafting With An Attitude challenge blog and enter? You could be our next winner.

Until next time,

Hugs from Ohio,
Terri
