Our hostess, Sandi Lee, has chose "Rainbows" as our challenge theme this week at the Sisterhood. In honor of the August 12th, 1939 premiere of "The Wizard of Oz, Sandi would like you to create a project using rainbows.
This was one of my favorite movies as a child. I hopped over to Pinterest to find images that would fit this challenge bring my project to life.
I found this paper with clouds in a stack of loose designer paper and used that for the base of my card. Next I matted the image of the Emerald city with black card stock and adhered it to the card. I copied the rainbow image from Pinterest and made it larger than my card. Then I cut the rainbow image down to fit the card front and added pop dots to give it dimension. The image of Shirley and the other characters were fussy cut and layered over the rainbow with dimensional. I printed the sentiment from my computer, then fussy cut the panel and mat, added die cut birds (Memory Box).
Inside the card I added the sentiment "Spread your wings and fly. Best wishes for the future."
I was thinking this would be great for a graduation or new job card.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Scrapper's Delights - Always Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Crafthing From the Heart - Anything Goes
Crafty Friends - Movie Week
Now that this project is finished, I just might have to put on my "Wizard of Oz" dvd to relive those childhood memories. Hopefully, my grandchildren will love this movie as much as I do.
Okay, it's your turn to share your creativity with us. Just head over to the Sisterhood for some fabulous inspiring creations and join in on the fun.
Happy Crafting!
Terri
