Lisa is our hostess for the challenge this week at the Sisterhood. The theme is "Celebrate Mom" and your challenge is to make a card of gift item for a special Mom. My mother passed away in 2011 and I miss her terribly, so I made this project with her in mind. Her birthday is August 18th and she would have been 100 years old this year. She was 85 when she passed from thyroid cancer in March 2001.
Now for my creation. I found this cute "Hat Treat Box" on Pinterest and knew this would be perfect for craft shows. You can find the original post here.
I found four ounce clear treat cups at Hollo's Paper store in Brunswick, Ohio. The top and brim of the hat were cut with two different sizes of my Sizzix scalloped circle dies from DCWV designer paper and adhered with Tombow's Mono Liquid Glue. Then embossed them with my Cuttlebug "Baby's Breath" embossing folder. Pink satin ribbon was adhered with glue dots then tied into a bow. The small rose and bow I found in the wedding department at Pat Catan's Craft store.
Just by changing the papers and embellishments, they could be used as gifts Mother's Day, Easter, Christmas, etc.
I have entered this project into the following challenges:
All Crafts Challenge - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Mema's Challenge - Anything Goes
Not Just Cards - Anything Goes
Be sure to stop by the Sisterhood for more inspiration from the sistah's and join in the fun.
Thanks for spending part of your day with me.
