Summertime

When I found this image on Pinterest, I know it would be the perfect focus for a summer card. This is my idea of relaxing during the summer. A nice cool breeze, a cold beverage and a comfortable place to read.

I started with a bright yellow cardstock for the base, then added this beautiful background paper from the NitWit Collections pack by Mary Fran of Lili of the Valley.  SU's "Passion Pink" card stock was used for the mat behind the image and the sentiment. 

Using my new Tattered Lace "Ornate Leaves" dies, I cut two stems  from lime green and garden green for embellishments. Green satin ribbon and Flower Soft add dimension.

The lawn has been mowed, the screened canopy is set up and there is a cool breeze calling my name. I think I will grab a cool drink, a good book and head outside to enjoy this beautiful day before heading back to my craft room.
